Lindsay Zwaan

Lindsay Zwaan (Rotterdam, 1994) is an actress and theater maker. In 2019, she graduated from the Acting program at the Toneelacademie Maastricht. During her studies, she performed her self-written play De vrouw van nummer 376D (directed by Sanne Smits) at the Zeecontainerprogramma of the Over het IJ Festival and interned with Toneelschuur Producties in the play Kras (directed by Paul Knieriem).

Since then, she has worked on a wide range of productions. She appeared in Vind je dat normaal? (Maas Theater en Dans), De Monoloog voor de Vrijheid (in collaboration with Philharmonie Zuid Nederland), and Uitgewoond (Parels voor de Zwijnen). She also performed in De Memers and Satisfactory, both in collaboration with Booi Kluiving.

With her own collective, Studio Dooie Mus, Lindsay creates physical, musical, and visually driven theater. Their first production, De Vergadering (directed by Jelle Stiphout), premiered at the Amsterdam Fringe Festival 2023. This was followed by K-HOLE, a dark coming-of-age fairytale for which she also wrote the script. Both productions are being restaged this season and will tour theaters across the Netherlands.

On screen, Lindsay first appeared in the film My Life on Planet B, followed by a recurring role in the series Smeris. She later acted in various films and television series, including Soof, Tropenjaren, Sihame, and Bennie. In 2022, she played the lead role in the short film Blauwe Regen (directed by Jet Kragt), which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2024, she appeared in Astro (directed by Tim Ewalts), which was nominated for a Gouden Kalf for Best Short Film.

She also plays the role of Sally in Eva Crutzen’s series Bodem, the second season of which will be released in the fall of 2025. Soon, she will begin filming a new television series.
