Meral Polat

Meral Polat (Amsterdam, 1982) is a multidisciplinary Dutch artist with Kurdish-Turkish roots from Dersim, who shaped her life and art in the heart of Amsterdam.

She studied at the Amsterdam Theatre Academy and earned her place as an actress in theatre, film, and television, with roles in Bodem (2024), En ze Maakte een Kind (Orkater, 2023), De Luizenmoeder (2018–2021, Zilveren Nipkow Schijf), Oogappels (2024), Mees Kees (2017), Snorro (Ro Theater), and De Vreemdeling (Orkater, 2021).

In 2024, her work was honored with a special mention for the Podium Prize of the Gieskes-Strijbis Fund, recognizing her versatile and meaningful contributions to the arts.
